Tenders have been returned for the land remediation contract on the Mersey Gateway site at Runcorn in Cheshire for Halton Borough Council. Tenders are now being evaluated and the appointment of a contractor is expected mid/late May 2012. This is the remediation of contaminated land as part of the Mersey Gateway bridge scheme and will take place from June 2012 for 12 months. Gifford are the consulting engineers on the £3.9 million scheme.
