Tenders are currently being invited for the £25 million biomass to energy plant on the West Bank Dock Estate in Widnes for Propser De Mulder Ltd. Works are expected to commence Spring 2013 and be carried out over a period of approximately 18 months. Scheme involves the installation of single stream fluidized bed combustor to produce renewable energy, raising height of building from 8.8m to 20m with new steel portal frame to accommodate fluidized bed combustor and waste heat recovery boil. John Hill Associates are acting as architects for the client on this proposal.
