Renzo to design Shard’s little sisters

Renzo Piano is designing a pair of smaller towers next to his Shard skyscraper at London Bridge. It is understood the residential buildings have been earmarked for the Fielden House site just west of the Shard, which was bought by the skyscrapers’ owners the Sellar Property Group with a Qatari consortium earlier this year. According to a spokesman, the chairman of the property company Irvine Sellar mentioned the proposed twin-tower development in Southwark, which is already being dubbed The Shardlets, at a speech on Tuesday evening (16 July).
