Galliford Try's Morrison Construction arm seals financial close on £45.2m Royal Edinburgh Hospital

Galliford Try’s Scottish subsidiary Morrison Construction has reached financial close on a £45.2m contract for the first phase of the redevelopment of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.

Galliford Try will invest £2.2m in the project. It will also provide hard facilities maintenance and lifecycle management over 25 years in a contract worth around £18.5m.

Willmott Dixon signs Brentford stadium deal

Willmott Dixon has signed a development agreement with Brentford Football Club to build a 20,000 capacity stadium in Lionel Road South.

The contractor’s development arm Regen was named as preferred bidder in January last year and will take forward plans for Brentford FC to move from its existing stadium at Griffin Park to the new stadium near Kew Bridge.

The club will contribute its land at the site, where Willmott Dixon will build the new stadium, associated infrastructure and 910 new homes.

Bam Nuttall, Bouygues and Dragados shortlisted for Heatherwick’s £175m Garden Bridge

Three contractors have been shortlisted for the £175m Thomas Heatherwick-designed Garden Bridge across the River Thames in London.

Bam Nuttall, Dragados and a Bouygues Travaux Publics/Cimolai joint venture have been shortlisted for the project, which is expected to have a construction value of £90m.

Bouygues to build new £35m school in Wales

Bouygues UK has been confirmed as winner by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council for a new £35m school in Baglan Bay, Wales.

The new building will replace four existing schools: Cwrt Sart Community School, Glanafan Comprehensive School, Sandfields Comprehensive School and Traethmelyn Primary School.
