Vinci wins deal for £60m Chester Northgate revamp Vinci Construction UK has been named preferred bidder for the £60m first phase of plans to transform Chester city centre. Cheshire West and Chester Council chose the contractor ahead of rival contractor Laing O’Rourke to deliver phase one, which comprises a relocated market, six-screen cinema, restaurants, a public square and car parking. Vinci will be formally appointed to a preconstruction agreement in autumn 2019, ahead of signing the contract for construction works by the end of next year. Buckingham wins £19m Leeds station expansion deal Buckingham Group has won a £19m deal to support the expansion of Leeds railway station. Network Rail selected the contractor for the contract, which forms part of Leeds station’s £500m revamp. Laing O’Rourke confirmed on Carillion's Royal Liverpool Hospital Laing O’Rourke has been officially appointed as management contractor on Carillion’s Royal Liverpool Hospital job, the NHS trust has confirmed. Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust said it was working with the government and regulator to ensure construction works were restarted as soon as possible.
