Wates wins £150m Birmingham office job Wates has won a £150m contract to design and build a new office in Birmingham city centre. The contractor beat two other bidders to secure the two-stage contract at Axis Square for London and Continental Railways (LCR). Two office buildings will be delivered on the site and Wates will now start pre-construction to finalise design and agree scope and price with LCR. Vinci takes on Carillion's London Overground contract Vinci has taken on Carillion’s facilities management service contract for the London Overground network. Client Arriva Rail London confirmed Vinci Facilities had been appointed under an initial 12-month deal. The £7.5m contract covers cleaning, fault rectification and planned maintenance activities across 81 London Overground stations, as well as the planning and scheduling of work and trackside FM delivery works. Lendlease JV takes over £1.2bn Silvertown Quays development deal A joint venture between Lendlease and US property giant Starwood has taken over as development partner on the £3.5bn Silvertown Quays development. The two firms have acquired a stake of the project’s current development partners Chelsfied Properties and First Base whose JV had been working with the Greater London Authority in its Silvertown Partnership development vehicle.
