Genesis and QPR get green light for Old Oak scheme

Genesis Housing Association and Queen Park Rangers have been given the go-ahead for a £175m mixed-use regeneration at Old Oak and Park Royal. The move is part of QPR’s wider ambition to build a new stadium in the area, having originally been interested in building a venue on land owned by car dealership Cargiant.

Contractors gear up for £7bn Highways England roads framework

Construction heavyweights including overseas contractors are preparing to bid for places on Highways England’s new £7bn roads framework, which will be launched next spring. Spanish infrastructure firm Acciona and rail and roads specialist Colas are among the firms who aren’t on the existing £5bn Collaborative Delivery Framework that will attempt to win places on its replacement.

Kier wins nearly 40% of all work via EFA's Main Contractors' Framework

Kier has won nearly 40 per cent of all contracts on the Education Funding Agency’s Main Contractors’ Framework, Construction News can reveal. The contractor won 54 – 38.3 per cent – of the 141 contracts procured via the framework so far, double its nearest rival Bowmer & Kirkland, which won 27 contracts.
