Construction output in November slipped back 0.2% against the previous month, but was 1.5% up on a on a year ago, according to ONS. Output during the three months September to November was 0.1% down on the preceding three months, but 1.6% higher than a year ago.
Private new housing output rose 2.2% during the three months to November against the preceding three months and was 8.2% up on a year ago. New social housing output also improved, being 1.1% up on the previous three months and 12.6% ahead of a year ago. In contrast public housing repair maintenance and improvement (RM&I) output 12.3% lower than a year ago, while private housing RM&I slipped back 0.6% over the same period.
Infrastructure output rose 1.9% during September to November against the preceding three months, but was still 6.1% lower than a year ago.
Industrial sector output also edged higher during the three months to November, being 1.0% up on the previous three months but still 9.8% down on a year ago. Public non-residential new work shrunk by 2.5% during the three months to November, but was 1.3% up on a year ago
In contrast commercial sector output remained firm, being just 0.2% down on the preceding three month and 7.2% ahead of a year ago.
