U+I £300m Brighton barracks project gets green light U+I has sealed a deal with Brighton & Hove City Council for a £300m mixed-use redevelopment project. The developer will transform a brownfield former military housing base known as Preston Barracks. A total of 369 homes will be delivered, as well as a 534-room student development in partnership with Scape Student Living and a 50,000 sq ft “innovation hub” for start-up businesses. Lendlease picked for £4bn HS2 Euston regeneration HS2 confirmed Lendlease had been approved for the long-term contract by the transport secretary Chris Grayling, beating rivals Canary Wharf Group and Argent to the deal. Under the contract, which is worth up to £40m, Lendlease will oversee planning and development of the 54 ha site, which will unlock 1,700 new homes and 19,000 jobs around the wider station site. Lendlease worked with a number of consultants on the Euston bid, including Prior and Partners, Grimshaw, Arup, BIG, AHMM, Haworth Tomkins, Asif Khan and Aecom.
