Jersey seeks contractor for £466m hospital The search for a contractor to build a long-awaited £466m general hospital in Jersey is set to begin after the island’s parliament gave the scheme the funding green light. Members of Jersey’s state assembly this week backed funding proposals and an outline business case for the project by 30 votes to 16. McLaren to be kept on £58m retail job despite developer exit McLaren will be retained as the main contractor for a £58m project to expand an Oxfordshire shopping centre, despite the scheme’s original developer deciding to pull out. The project’s prospective client, Cherwell District Council, has confirmed it will keep McLaren on the contract to expand Banbury’s Castle Quay Shopping Centre. Winners named on £420m consultancy framework The winning firms have been revealed for a £420m government framework to provide consultancy on infrastructure management. Atkins, Arcadis, Costain, Jacobs, Mace, Mott MacDonald and WSP were the big construction winners on the framework, which will draw on 44 suppliers. Google HQ brings in Severfield for steel contract Severfield has won the contract to carry out structural steelwork on Google’s new London headquarters in King’s Cross.
