Willmott Dixon lands £120m Beverley scheme

Willmott Dixon has bagged the long-awaited £120m Flemingate development in Beverley, Yorkshire

The contractor saw off Clugston, Wates, Bowmer & Kirkland and Morgan Sindall to land the controversial scheme for the Hull-based Wykeland Group.

The 10-acre mixed-use scheme includes a hotel, a five-screen cinema complex and a host of top retail names including anchor tenant Debenhams.

Kier wins £140m Genesis Housing Association deal for London and the East

Kier has won a £140m contract to deliver maintenance and repair works on 33,000 homes for Genesis Housing Association.

Under the contract Kier will deliver planned maintenance works across a portfolio of 33,000 properties in London and the East of England.

It will also provide responsive repairs for over 10,000 homes in East London and the East of England, with the remaining properties serviced by Genesis’ in-house team.

Morgan Sindall's infrastructure managing director Jag Paddam exits

Morgan Sindall’s managing director of infrastructure Jag Paddam has tendered his resignation after seven years with the company.

Managing director of civil engineering Nick Fletcher has taken over leadership of the infrastructure business with immediate effect.

Mr Fletcher joined Morgan Sindall from Laing O’Rourke in April, taking overall responsibility for the company’s infrastructure, tunnelling and utility services businesses.

Atkins 'always looking' at acquisitions but firm stays quiet on Parsons Brinckerhoff

Atkins’ UK and Europe chief has said it is “always looking” at acquisition opportunities after the engineering giant was linked with a bid for Parsons Brinckerhoff, which Balfour Beatty is considering selling.

In its preliminary results for the year released on Thursday, Atkins referred to its partnership with Parsons Brinckerhoff on the electrification of the Great Western mainline between London and South Wales.
