Tesco scraps development on more than 100 sites

Tesco has announced that it no longer plans to develop on more than 100 sites where it has bought land, as part of a property pipeline review.Tesco announced last year it would reduce new store openings by a third and cut capital expenditure by £500 million in 2013. In a trading update this morning, it announced the results of its in-depth review of the property pipeline. Tesco reported group trading profit down 13 per cent to £3.5bn in its full year to 23 February.
