May Gurney acquisition helps Kier Group expand at pace

Kier has added £1bn of turnover in the year since taking over May Gurney, it revealed today.

The Bedfordshire-based construction group posted revenue of £3bn for the 12 months to 30 June 2014. This was up from £2bn in the previous year.

Interserve wins two technology jobs worth a combined £50m

Interserve is to build a £43m facility for the aerospace industry in Yorkshire.

The contractor will deliver the futuristic research and assembly plant Factory 2050 at the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.

The facility will include advanced robotics, flexible automation, unmanned workspace and off-line programming. It will also feature 3D printing from automated systems, man-machine interfaces and cutting-edge programming and training tools.

Mace wins £400m BBC TV transformation job

Mace has been selected by developer Stanhope as preferred construction manager for the redevelopment of BBC Television Centre in west London.

Work on the listed building will see the site open to the public for the first time, with new retail, leisure and entertainment space.

The project will include office space, aimed at occupiers in the creative sector and a media business hub, as well as around 950 new homes.

GLA appoints Galliford Try to £360m Silvertown Way development

Galliford Try has been named preferred developer for a 1,100-home scheme in London with a gross development value of £360m.

The firm has been appointed preferred developer by Greater London Authority to construct the Silvertown Way development in Canning Town, east London. The scheme will be the largest standalone housing scheme to be completed by the firm.
