Great Portland Estates chooses Bam for St Lawrence House development

Bam Construct has won a £25m pre-construction job at Great Portland Estate’s St Lawrence House in London as it takes pole position for the main construction job.

It is understood that Bam has won the job valued at up to £25m ahead of contractors including Galliford Try, Skanska and Wates.

Shepherd construction director set for Morgan Sindal

Richard Dobson will leave his role as a construction director at Shepherd Construction to join Morgan Sindall. Mr Dobson joined Shepherd as construction director for its business in the South in March 2012.
He had joined the contractor from Wates where he worked as a project director. It is understood Mr Dobson will join Morgan Sindall’s construction business while his replacement at Shepherd is likely to be recruited internally.

Balfour Beatty takes £12m hit on PB contract dispute

Balfour Beatty has said it will receive £12m less than it had anticipated following the resolution of a legal dispute concerning Parsons Brinckerhoff.

The group today announced the outcome of an arbitration process in relation to a longstanding contract dispute in its professional services division.

Kier’s £260m Watford scheme enters planning

Planning permission is being sought for Kier and Watford Council’s £260m regeneration scheme that will deliver new housing and retail space for Watford, Hertfordshire.

The Watford Health Campus project is a public private partnership between Watford Council and Kier Project Investment.

Kier was named preferred bidder on the local asset-backed vehicle scheme, which was originally valued at £240m, in August 2012.
