Tenders invited for £24m transport scheme

Tenders are currently being invited for the £24 million town centre transport scheme in Luton for Luton Borough Council. Works are expected to commence July 2013 and be carried out over a period of 18 months. Works will include removal of non-town centre road traffic and improving pedestrian/cycle linkages. The main elements of the package are a new high quality bus station, pedestrian/cycle facilities and junction alterations to provide priority for pedestrians, cyclists and buses.
