Tenders invited for £243m hospital development

Health Estates Investment Group is currently inviting tender for phase 1 of a £243 million development at Ulster Hospital, Dundonald, Belfast. Tenders are due to be returned on 29th June 2012. 

This phase (Phase B1) of the total redevelopment will provide a new Inpatient Ward Block to include: 

• Inpatient accommodation - 12 wards, each with 24 single en-suite bedrooms.
• 4 day surgery suites. 
• 3 endoscopy suites.
• Cardiac catheterisation suite.
• Pharmacy. 
• Hard and soft landscaping. 
• Communications links and plant.
• The facility will have an approximate internal floor area of 24,000 sqm. 
• The Contracting Authority may also award Phase B2 of the redevelopment (Phase B2 will include departments such as - A&E, X-ray, Diagnostic Imaging, Clinical Assessment, Specialist Wards, Support Accommodation and Central Catering) under this framework agreement.
