PPQs returned for £60m bypass

Prequalification questionnaires were returned 24th September 2013 and are now under assessment for the A15 Lincoln Eastern Bypass. Lincolnshire County Council are to announce short listed bidders late November 2013 with tender invitation expected January 2014. The £60m bypass involves the construction of a 7.5km single carriageway, roundabout, subway, underbridge, footbridge and viaduct and will take around 2 years to build.

Contractor sought for waste water treatment works

United Utilities have a proposal known as the Oldham and Royton Integrated Strategy which will see the requirements needed meeting new final effluent discharge consents at both works and reducing storm sewage discharges to improve river water quality. Works on the £80 million scheme will see the ceasing of full treatment at Royton Waster Waste Treatment Works and transfer flow to Oldham WWTW for full treatment, where new secondary and tertiary treatment facilities will be provided. Works are expected to commence during 2014 and take approximately 2 years.

Plans submitted for Aldi store

New detailed plans have now been submitted for a scheme by Aldi Stores Ltd on land at the junction of Blackfriars Street and Lower Street in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. This scheme comprises of the construction of new Aldi supermarket of 1,534sqm with 112 car parking spaces. Harris Partnership Ltd are the architects who designed this £1.4 million scheme.

Tenders to be invited for infrastructure works

Tenders are expected to be invited late October 2013 for the £7 million infrastructure works contract at Kirstall Forge for Leeds City Council. Works are expected to commence February 2014 and be carried out over approximately 12 months. Works will include construction of a new traffic signalised junction off the A65, access road to link in with the proposed rail halt, a new bride over the river Aire, sheet piling to the river bank and ground remediation works for the site.
