Works complete on £20m shopping centre

Work on site has now completed for a scheme by Centros UK Ltd at the Tower Centre development in Hoddesdon. McLaren Construction completed the work on 4th November 2013. This scheme comprised of the construction of a shopping centre, to include a Morrison's supermarket, retention of the residential tower, refurbishment of the arcade to form a pavilion and the formation of a car park with access arrangements and highway improvements. PRC Group are the architects who designed this £20 million scheme.

Plans approved for Co-Op store

Detailed plans have been granted for a scheme by the Co-Operative Group at the former House Of Beauly at Station Road in Beauly. This scheme comprises of the sub-division of the House of Beauly unit to create three smaller units with external alterations and a customer car park. Kerr Baxter Associates are the architects who designed this £970,000 scheme.

Contractor awarded museum extension

Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council has awarded the £10 million extension to the National Horseracing Museum to Graham Construction. Scheme comprises partial demolition of buildings and new build, extension/change of use from trainer's house/stable yard to museum and visitor experience. Miscellaneous updates to stables to create coach parking and object store.

Tenders returned for sports venue

Tenders have returned to Newcastle City Council for a scheme at Cruddas Park, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. The scheme comprises of construction of a basketball hall training and competition venue with 2,800 capacity spectator seating and ancillary office and teaching accommodation, hospitality areas, shop and refreshment/snack facility and provision of 295 car parking spaces, cycle parking and coach drop off, realignment and extension of Nesham Street to provide into site, linking to CHP plant within Cruddas Park House. Work is due to start 2014.
