Contractors sought for flood prevention

Tenders to be invited during May 2012 for the £3.4 million flood prevention scheme proposed at Knowle Burn in Dumbarton. Works are expected to commence June/July 2012 for West Dunbartonshire Council and take approximately 10 months. Scheme comprises various flood prevention works to approximately 1 kilometre of river channel in Dunbarton. Works include river bank reinforcement, channel realignment, replacing culverts, flood by pass culverts, diversion of utility services, offline flood storage basin, trash screens and provision of other hydraulic controls.
