Skanska wins £177m Land Securities office development

Skanska has been awarded the contract to build Land Securities’ £177m 1 New Street Square development in the City of London.

The 270,900 sq ft scheme will comprise around 256,000 sq ft of office space over 16 storeys with additional leisure and retail space on Shoe Lane in the heart of the city.
 
 
Aecom appoints former EC Harris partner as operations director

Aecom has poached former EC Harris partner Scott Motley to become operations director for its EMEA programme, cost and consultancy practice.
Mr Motley spent 17 years at EC Harris where he worked in roles including as a framework manager for commercial services with Magnox and with water clients including Welsh Water and United Utilities.

Network Rail 'holds feet to the fire' with contractor deal guarantees
 
Network Rail has agreed to “hold its feet to the fire” by committing to compensate contractors if it fails to provide them with enough work on four new route-based deals worth £1.2bn.
 
In a first for the rail client, it has guaranteed a minimum spend of 60 per cent on the £1.2bn deals won by Bam Nuttall, Costain, Osborne and VolkerFitzpatrick for four routes in the South of England.
 
 

Bam Construct wins £29m Surrey vet school
 
Bam Construct has been awarded the £29m contract to build a new veterinary school at the University of Surrey.

It will deliver three new buildings for teaching and clinical research at the university’s Guildford campus.
