Works have now been completed on the £56 million Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome at London Road in Glasgow for the 2016 Commonwealth Games. The development includes construction of a 2,500 seater velodrome which is linked by a walkway to the National Indoor Arena as part of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome comprises:

- 1.2 metre depressed track centre (concrete, used for cycling competition, or demountable roller sports park, or court sports).
- 2,500 spectator capacity (1,946 fixed seats and 500 standing spaces).
- Temporary 4,000 spectator target capacity (Velodrome concourse large enough to accommodate additional 2,000 temporary seats).
- Closed road circuit (external).
- Ancillary facilities (cyclists and roller sport changing rooms, cycle stores for national squad, clubs and for hire, hire station and workshop, equipment stores, event control space).
